Maria was born in Estancia, New Mexico on May 22, 1956, to Secundino Hurtado and Juanita Garcia whom both preceded her in death.
As District Manager of the Salt Water Project, Jesusita Maria’s mentorship and her care for her personnel was a key to the project’s success. Upon retirement, Maria spent much of her quality time at any bingo establishment she could possibly find. Her smile would lighten a room and her hugs were full of love. Be careful to never block her car in the driveway when it was time for Bingo.
“Mom is such a special word. The loveliest I’ve ever heard. A toast to you above all the rest. Mom you’re so special and simply the very best.”
Those left to cherish Maria’s memory are her husband, Frank Alvarado of Roswell, New Mexico; two sons: Freddie Martin Sedillo Jr, Christopher John Sedillo; siblings: Avellino (Ray) L. Hurtado of Roswell, New Mexico, Berlinda A. Hurtado of Albuquerque, New Mexico, Cecilia T. Hurtado of Millington, Tennessee, Ana M. Hurtado of Alamogordo, New Mexico, Jose P. Hurtado of Rio Rancho, New Mexico; and numerous grandchildren; great-grandchildren; godchildren; nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be: Rick Alvarado, Jessie James Alvarado, Tino Nieto, Art Rodriguez, John Leon and Jose Porfirio Hurtado.
This tribute was lovingly written in honor of Maria by her family.
