Our loving Mother, Marie “Elena” Quinn, went to be with Our Lord Jesus on November 5, 2015. Elena was born in Teaneck, N.J. on December 3, 1941 in Holy Name Hospital to Thomas and Eleanor Whaley. Elena would have been 74 on her next birthday.
She is survived by her two younger sisters; Denise Huckins of Bergenfield, New Jersey and Karen Burns and her husband of Sligo, Ireland; her two daughters, Tracey Anne Luna and husband Steve Luna and Kimberley Anne Perez and husband Sal Perez. Elena has three beautiful granddaughters, Alexandria C. Fresquez, Samantha K. Luna and Naomi D. Perez.
Elena attended private Catholic School in New Jersey, including St. Cecilia’s in Englewood, N.J. She was a homemaker, loving mother and worked as a nursing assistant caring for the elderly for over 40 years, both in New Jersey and here in Roswell. She was an assistant Girl Scout leader for both of her daughters. Her last days were spent in loving care at Sunset Villa. Elena spent her life taking care of those around her. She was giving and loving with a fun, playful spirit. She will be sincerely missed by her family and friends. Her suffering is over; she is at peace with the Lord.
Our family would like to genuinely thank ALL of the staff at Sunset Villa, from the maintainance on up to the Director of Nurses and Administration, for the amazing care they gave our mother and grandmother. God Bless you!
Services will be held at St. Peter’s Catholic Church on Saturday, November 14. There will be a Rosary at 11 a.m. and a Memorial Service will follow at noon. A reception will follow in the community room.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested a donation in the memory of Marie Elena Quinn be sent to “Wings for Life” or “Reflections and Recovery”.
