Candace Lewis is the new executive director of the Roswell Chamber of Commerce (Submitted Photo).
Candace Lewis was named executive director of the Roswell Chamber of Commerce on Thursday by the organization’s executive board of directors.
Lewis had served as interim executive director since November, when Dorrie Faubus-McCarty stepped down from the position.
Lewis began her career at the chamber in 2011 where she started as communications coordinator. After one year she was [auth] promoted to office manager.
She graduated from the Leadership Roswell Class of 2015 last year, and has assisted the Roswell Redcoats with their administration duties and sits on numerous committees throughout the community.
Lewis has assisted in organizing all the chamber functions and events such as Taste of Roswell, New Year’s Gala, Tailgate Open House, Movie Premier for “50-1,” community receptions for the International Law Enforcement Academy, grand openings of numerous new businesses in Roswell, Business After Hours at some of Roswell’s finest businesses, as well as coordinating with the Mayor Dennis Kintigh to put together the monthly breakfast for Mornings with the Mayor.
Shane Hall, executive vice president of the chamber, said the executive board was unanimous in its decision to appoint Lewis.
“We are very proud of the fact that Candace Lewis is the new executive director of the Roswell Chamber of Commerce,” he said. “She has been serving as the interim director and performed in an outstanding fashion and proved to us she is the person for the job! We are very proud of the way she has handled her role representing the chamber. She had big shoes to fill when Dorrie retired.”
Hall added he looks forward to the chamber moving forward under Lewis’ leadership. “We look forward to great things from Candace and the Roswell chamber staff.”
