Stomps to the Max

Standing at 6 feet tall, 12 feet long, and weighing more than 5,400 pounds, Max the Rhino carries incredible weight and power in every step—or rather, stomp. For two weeks, Max lived the good life on SmartStrand Silk and a competitive premium soft nylon carpet, putting extreme wear on the carpet that would take a family of four an entire year to replicate.

2 CARPETS. 2 WEEKS. 1 RHINO.

Mohawk installed both SmartStrand Silk and a competitive premium soft nylon in the zoo enclosure of Max the Rhino. After two weeks with a 5,400-pound rhinoceros, both carpets were covered with more than just mud. After a thorough professional cleaning, the nylon soft carpet showed signs of matting, crushing, and stains. Only the SmartStrand Silk carpet released stains and remained beautiful, once again proving that SmartStrand is the most durable, [auth] easiest to clean carpet on the planet.

MADE TO LAST. MADE FOR MAX.

What is your personal history?

I am married with two children and enjoy reading and spending time with my family. We are originally from the Dallas, Texas area. My family moved to Roswell when my husband took a job with an electric co-op in this area.

What is your work history?

Before coming to work at George’s, I was in advertising sales for the Roswell Daily Record newspaper. My husband and I also own our own business, Badlands BBQ.
I have been with George’s Carpet & Tile for over three years now and really enjoy the family atmosphere. Joann is a great boss and I couldn’t have asked for a better group of co-workers.

Flooring seems to be a particularly bland industry to work in. Do you find that to be the case?

No, quite the opposite. This industry is a lot of fun. There are always new designs and trends coming out. The fun part is staying on top of each and every one. Pinterest and other websites, as well as TV shows, are where I find most of my design inspirations. I drive my husband crazy planning to include all the new trends in my home. I can never seem to figure out which one I like best.

How do you feel about customers?

My customers are my favorite part of my job. I love working with them to find out exactly what they need and want for their particular project, whether it be carpet, tile or some other product. Sometimes what they need changes due to different variables, which gives me an opportunity to research new and exciting products that I wasn’t fully familiar with until that moment.

What is it that makes people come to George’s for their flooring?

I think that willingness, to go above and beyond, to find a customer exactly what they need is why George’s stands out above all the rest. When I have a customer leave with a smile on their face, that’s when I know it’s been a job well done.
