Children’s film series coming to RMAC

The Roswell Museum and Art Center’s Children’s Film Series is happening this June.
On three Saturdays — June 3, 10 and 17 — families can enjoy exhilarating short-film programs for moviegoers of all ages in this film series sponsored by the Roswell Museum and Art Foundation.
Magical, adventurous works made by acclaimed filmmakers and up-and-coming auteurs showcase work from around the globe — including Colombia, France, Russia, Taiwan, Argentina, Korea, Iran and Mexico — will inspire the whole family.
Films are provided by Northwest Film Forum, Seattle’s comprehensive film arts organization, which screens more than 200 independently made and classic films annually.
On June 3, enjoy “Family Time” (66 min, for ages 5 and up). In these animated and live-action shorts, we learn that very different kinds of families can share the same bond of love. Find the sun, learn a new song, dance with cats, drink from a tall, cool glass of color and rediscover what your own family means to you.
On June 10, the museum will screen “Shine On! The Best Animated Films from Children’s Film Festival Seattle 2017” (64 minutes, for all ages). The characters in these sweet and funny films have special things that make them glow and grow.
Join them as they play with their friends and families, discover new things about themselves and take journeys to near and far.
And finally, on June 17, the series will wrap up with a collection of shorts, “Friends are Forever” (59 minutes, for ages 5 and up).
In this collection of mostly animated shorts, friends also come in all shapes and sizes, from a fierce little lion with a surprisingly soft heart to a small shy girl gaining strength from her grandmother and teacher.
Shows are free and begin at 2 p.m. with light refreshments to be provided. Donations are always welcome.
