An eHarmony commercial produced by graduates from the Creative Media Institute at New Mexico State University, “Someone For You,” has been recognized as an editor’s pick on the national advertising review site, Creativity, for its take on single motherhood.
Jenn Garcia is one of the owners of the production company, Hardline Films. She is also a Goddard High School graduate.
“Hardline Films just received some fantastic news,” Garcia said. “A commercial we wrote and produced for eHarmony was featured on major online magazines this week including ‘Advertising Age,’ where it was ranked one of the best Mother’s Day ad of the year. This spot was entirely produced with a New Mexican crew and done on an indie budget. It’s now competing with some major national commercials.”
“I began my film career in the media class at Goddard High School. My teachers were Mr. Anderson and Mr. Lopez. I don’t know their first names,” Garcia said and laughed.
eHarmony is a dating site that is known for its commercials showing the awkwardness of dating.
Hardline Films was hired last year for another commercial, “The Glance,” which is currently broadcasting along the eastern seaboard of Australia. The team members said they are thrilled to be representing New Mexico’s film industry worldwide.
Other owners of Hardline Films are Sheridan O’Donnell, Keagan Karnes and Sam Pool.
