On Thursday, the Roswell Rotary Club awarded $25,000 in scholarships to graduating seniors from local schools including Goddard, Roswell, Dexter and Gateway high schools.

Each scholarship varied between $1,500 to $2,000.
Seven students, along with their families accompanying them, were present to receive their awards. These students have accepted to go to a wide range of schools such as the Eastern New Mexico University-Roswell, New Mexico State University, University of New Mexico, West Texas State, Texas Tech and New Mexico Military Institute.
These students plan to further their educations and pursue degrees in education, veterinarian medicine, landscape management, social work, graphic design, psychology, mechanical engineering, auto mechanics and economics.
The Rotary Club has taken part in giving back to the next generation, congratulates the class of 2017 on finishing this step in their lives and encourages them to finish their education in the state of New Mexico.
