A 69-year-old Roswell man has been charged with 73 criminal counts of sexual exploitation of children and five other criminal counts following an investigation by the Roswell Police Department.
Edward Dean Goodman is accused of providing marijuana to two minors in exchange for inappropriate photographs of the teenage girls. It is alleged one girl provided digital photographs of herself at Goodman’s request and the other girl allowed Goodman’s request to photograph her at his home.
Investigators said the girls’ actions were a result of Goodman enticing them by offering to and then providing them marijuana. It is also alleged that Goodman sexually assaulted one of the girls.
The investigation began in mid-April when Goodman’s wife discovered photos of the girls Goodman possessed. His wife brought the situation to the attention of the mother of one of the girls and police were notified.
In addition to the 73 counts of sexual exploitation of children, based on the number of photos discovered, Goodman is also charged with one count of criminal sexual penetration of a minor, two counts of distribution of marijuana to a minor and two counts of contributing to the delinquency of a minor.
Goodman is being held at the Chaves County Detention Center on a $100,000 cash-only bond.
