Thomas Scott, age 36, of Hobbs –– formerly of Roswell –– passed away Friday, June 2, 2017. A memorial service will be held Saturday, July 15, 2 p.m. at Central Church of the Nazarene, 901 E. Country Club in Roswell. Pastor Randy Elftman will be officiating.
Thomas was born July 22, 1980 to Darwin and Cletta Scott. He was a mechanic specializing in large trucks and refrigeration units. Many of his hobbies laid primarily in that field and in other similar and related areas. He had a strong mechanical interest and aptitude that had been encouraged and developed by both his father and grandfather from an early age. Thomas was a dedicated Christian who prayed regularly, attended church frequently, and enjoyed reading and discussing the Bible. He was known for his sense of humor, enthusiastic patriotism, immense generosity, love for his family and friends and his profound love of tools.
Thomas is survived by brothers Mathew and Jeff of Roswell, nephew Jeffrey of Roswell, uncle Gordon of Roswell, and by many friends in Southeastern NM that he had strong relationships with. Thomas was preceded in death by both his father and mother and by his grandparents Cad and Ila, with whom he shared a close relationship.
