Bringing home the hardware

Jan Olesinski, a coach at New Mexico Military Institute, as well as coach of the Caprock Swim Team in Roswell, took seven local athletes to compete at the 2017 National Modern Pentathlon Championships and the 2017 National Laser/Run Championships in Colorado Springs, Colorado. The championships took place from June 20-25 at the Olympic Training Center.

They brought home eight national medals.
Sierra Walker: 2017 National Champion Laser/Run.
Tessa Walker: 2017 silver medalist in the National Modern Pentathlon U15 individual girls and Modern Pentathlon Mixed Relay. Tessa also received a bronze medal in the Modern Pentathlon Gender Relay.
Mary Kathryn Olvera: 2017 silver medalist in the National Modern Pentathlon U13 individual girls and bronze medalist in the U13 Mixed Relays.

Owen Gregory: 2017 silver medalist in the U13 boys National Modern Pentathlon and U13 Mixed Relays.
Mia Walker competed in the U15 girls individuals Laser/Run.
Jeremy Pinon competed in the U17 boys individuals National Modern Pentathlon.
Emily Staeden competed in the U13 girls individuals National Modern Pentathlon.
