Safe Driving Class set for Tuesday

The AARP Safe Driving Class will be held from 1 to 5 p.m. on Tuesday at Senior Circle, 2801 N. Main St., next to Family Dollar. The class is open to anyone 50 or older.
The cost is $15 for AARP members; $20 for nonmembers. Successful completion of the class usually means a discount in auto insurance. Please be sure to check with your insurance company.
To enroll, call Senior Circle at 623-2311. Payment should be made when you arrive for the class. Checks should be made payable to AARP. Cash is accepted. No credit cards.

Commission on Aging to meet

The Commission on Aging will meet at 3 p.m. Thursday, July 20. The meeting will be held at Senior Circle, 2801 N. Main St., next to Family Dollar, and is open to all interested parties. Topics include local issues relating to seniors. Senior Circle is an Eastern New Mexico Medical Center resource that offers travel, exercise and so much more. For more information, call 623-2311.

Food program through July 28

Free meals will be provided to all children 18 and under until July 28. Lunches will be served from 11 a.m to 1 p.m. at the ENMU-R pool and at the Alice Reischman-Smith, Cahoon, Fifth Street, Carpenter, Poe Corn and Spring River parks. Breakfasts will be available at 8 a.m. at the Roswell Adult Center and the Roswell Boys and Girls Club.

Free camp for the whole family

The Nogal Mesa Ranchman’s Camp offers an interdenominational camping experience for the whole family on July 19-23. There are no fees and no meal payments for the camp. Donations are accepted. Activities include worship service and Bible study, hayrides, prayer meetings and more.
