Eyesore destruction will revitalize downtown

Destruction began against an eyesore that was formerly a Budweiser plant at the 200 block of East Second Street across from the old Roswell Trading Co. building Wednesday. Trey Nesselrodt, a member of PRO Roswell, led the project and intends to turn the area into an interactive children’s museum that embraces science, technology, engineering and mathematics, including space exploration and rocketry. The Space Exploratorium Children’s Museum is part of an ongoing downtown revitalization project. PRO Roswell (Past Represents Opportunity) is organized to enhance, encourage and aid endeavors that revitalize, restore and rebuild Roswell’s historic areas, buildings or places of interest. In an interview with the Roswell Daily Record’s Saturday Spotlight in 2011, Nesselrodt said, “This is our city, our town. It’s only going to be as good as we make it.” (Trevier Gonzalez Photo)
