Friday’s event saw close to 700 to 800 attendants, said Jason Perry, director of music, children, and education.
Perry said the church tries to decide on themes that speak to children, with this year’s theme being “Leaving the Dark Side,” an inspiration from the hit film series “Star Wars.” While the church held free events for the youth of Roswell throughout the week, Friday’s event was especially popular.
There was a carnival offered outside of the church, at 115 W. 11th St. Games and jolly jumps were lined between 11th and Main streets, making a fun-filled day for the whole family. Perry said that staff members of Tabernacle provided food for all the attendants, including hot dogs, potato chips, popcorn, soda and cupcakes.
