Goddard’s Beene goes top-10 at junior nationals

Goddard High School junior Bailey Beene placed ninth out of 41 javelin throwers in the age 17-18 women’s division at the USATF National Junior Olympic Track & Field Championships at Rock Chalk Park in Lawrence, Kansas last week. Beene qualified for the national meet by winning the New Mexico State Junior Olympics and Region 10 meet. Her second throw of 37.54 meters (123 feet, 2 inches) secured the top-ten finish and was more than one meter farther than her Region 10 winner. (Submitted Photo)
