Overflowing baskets of supplies

Arthur Garcia, customer service supervisor of the New Mexico Gas Company of southeast New Mexico, pictured center, presents Maria Gonzales, left, of the Roswell Community Volunteer Program with three carts full of school supplies for students who could not otherwise afford school supplies and uniforms. The New Mexico Gas Company has made the largest donation of school supplies so far this year during the school supply giveaway organized by Johnny Gonzales and his wife, Maria. Also pictured right, is the Gonzales’ grandson, Nathaniel Paredes, who volunteers his time for the program. Maria Gonzales said, “We really appreciate Joseph Brady of the gas company and all he did to help. His heart was in it in caring for the kids.” She challenges others to meet his donation of $500, as there are still many other latecomers who need school supplies. For more information, contact Johnny Gonzales at 575-317-1769. (Submitted Photo)
