Senior Circle member Sherry Witt has started her second art class for members. The two-month class will expand on the skill sets students covered in Beginning Drawing, the first class, which was offered last spring.

This class is Beginning Portrait and Figure Drawing.
“The session will cover very basic techniques, not excessive anatomical study,” Witt said. “The students will work toward understanding what they are seeing in order to draw realistically.

“This approach helps the student not to be intimidated by ‘drawing a portrait.’ We will stress observation and drawing from life.”
In the first beginning portrait class held Aug. 4, students practiced techniques by drawing each other.
Senior Circle Director Marifrank Daharb says “the class is full. She limits the size so she can give the students individual attention. The students in the second class were in her first class — they love her!”
