Thelma Sue (Latham) Maness

Thelma Sue (Latham) Maness passed away at home on July 24, 2017. Sue was born in Deming, New Mexico on June 10, 1947 to Tommy and Eve Latham. She was raised on a ranch near Lake Valley. She graduated from Hot Springs High in T or C. She went to NMSU for 2 years where she met her husband. Later she went to cosmetology school in Roswell. She married Lloyd Maness on November 16, 1968 where he worked for NMDOT. She was a member of the New Mexico Woolgrowers, Cattle Growers and Cowbells. She and her husband liked to go to schools and educate children on where their clothes come from and what it takes to get the final product. She lived on her grandparents’ ranch near Corona. At one time she owned a bakery in Clayton, New Mexico.
She is survived by her husband, two daughters Andora and Barbara and one son Creighton. Also one sister Linda Sultemeier.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother James.
