Work to improve a portion of Bottomless Lakes Road, or New Mexico Road 409, in Chaves County will start Monday.
The project to resurface about 4.5 miles of NM 409 will be overseen by the District 2 office of the New Mexico Department of Transportation.
The project is expected to improve the road surface and extend the life of the roadway. Work is scheduled for completion in one week, weather permitting, according to the Department of Transportation news release.
Work will take place Monday through Friday, 8 am to 5 p.m. Message boards and detour signs will be in place to direct motorists and keep vehicles moving safely, NMDOT stated.
