Claude Williams, 85, beloved father, passed away in Roswell, NM, on August 15, 2017. Viewing will be Sunday, August 20, 2017, from 5 to 8 p.m., at Anderson-Bethany Funeral Home. A funeral service will be Monday, August 21, 2017, at 10 a.m., at Midway Baptist Church, with Bro. Lawrence officiating. Interment will follow at South Park Cemetery. Born on January 12, 1932, in Konawa, OK, Claude’s parents were Charley and Pearl Williams. He became a self-employed contractor. Claude married the love of his life and together they had four children. After retirement, he enjoyed woodworking, fishing and playing Solitaire – the old fashioned kind, with a deck of cards. Claude also spent time at the Joy Center.
Preceding Claude in death were his wife, Viola Williams; one daughter, Patricia Byrne; one grandson, Christopher Cones; parents: Charley and Pearl Williams; sister, Allie Ruth Collum; brother, Harley Williamas; and a dear pet, Sweetpea.
Surviving to cherish Claude’s memory are his children: Sharon Flores and husband, Joe, Debra Stanislawczyk, Steve Williams; grandchildren: Anthony Flores and wife, Maureen, Brandy VerPlanck, Dena Rincon, Andrea Kelsey, Candice Evartt and husband, Raymond; 13 great-grandchildren; sister, Betty Almond; niece, Earnestine Benefield and faithful pet, Buttercup.
