Leopoldo Villegas Gutierrez, 87, passed away at his home on August 16, 2017. Viewing will be Friday, August 18, 2017, from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. at Anderson-Bethany Funeral Home. Rosary will be recited following the viewing at 7 p.m. Celebration of Life will be Saturday, August 19, 2017, at 10 a.m. at St. Peter’s Catholic Church officiated by Father Charlie Martinez. Leopoldo was born on October 7, 1929, to Antonio Gutierrez and Belen Villegas de Gutierrez in Cierro Prieto Cuahutemoc, Chih., Mexico. He attended school in Mexico and made his career in the construction business, from which he retired. Leopoldo’s passion was his family and spending time with them. He also enjoyed going to casinos and buying lotto tickets. A great pleasure of Leopoldo’s was remodeling and working on his home and working in his yard.
Preceding Leopoldo in death were his parents: Antonio Gutierrez, Belen Villegas de Gutierrez; grandson, Marcos Javier Ramos; great-grandsons: Daniel Jr. Ramos, Ricardo Ivan Aguilar; sisters: Estela Gutierrez De Perez, Celia Gutierrez Villegas; and brother, Jose Luis Gutierrez.
Surviving to cherish Leopoldo’s memory are: his wife, Moncerrate Gutierrez; children: Alvaro Gutierrez and wife, Socorro, Gloria Ramos and husband, Raul, Octavio Gutierrez and wife, Hipolitalisia, Horacio Gutierrez and wife, Lourdes, Leopoldo Gutierrez and wife, Cecilia, Guadalupe Valverde and husband, Efrain, Martina Arias and husband, Cesar, Uver Gutierrez and wife, Cristina, Lorena Alvarado and husband Erick; grandchildren: Ivan Gutierrez, Marisol Aguilar, Viviana Gutierrez, Melissa Salas, Alvaro Jr. Gutierrez, Daniel Ramos, Martin Ramos, Sonia Iglesias, Luis Ramos, Rocio Ramos, Anabel Ramos, Yazmani Valverde, Efrain Jr Valverde, Marisol Valverde, Fabian Gutierrez, Cassandra Candelaria, Bianca Gutierrez, Alan Gutierrez, Noel Gutierrez, Leonel Gutierrez, Juliana Gutierrez, Angelica Vargas, Sandra Fuentes, AnaCrystal Gutierrez, Yesenia Campa, Edgar Gutierrez, Saul Rene Nieto, Diana Marquez, Erick Jr Alvarado, Nayeli Alvarado, Joseline Alvarado, Gladys Gutierrez, Alexis Gutierrez; great-grandchildren: Ayleen Gutierrez, Sophia Gutierrez, Airell Aguilar, Max Aguilar, Leo Aguilar, Alberto Salas, Yazlin Salas, Daniela Ramos, Abraham Ramos, Natalie Iglesias, Enrique Iglesias, Aron Iglesias, Marcos Ramos, Ayden Nieto, Daisy Corrales, Delani Corrales, Ximena Chavez, Aryhanna Candelaria, Veronica Bonilla, Oziah Gutierrez, Oscar Gutierrez, Antony Gutierrez, Sophia Villareal, Aubry Valverde, Lindsay Campa, Ignacio Campa, Jayden Nieto, Karely Marquez, Kaylee Marquez, Ian Nieto, Daniel Nieto; sisters: Elena Villegas, Elvia Torres, Antonina Coss; brother, Jesus Gutierrez; and best friend Rodrigo Chavira.
