Roswell murder suspect Jeremy Hawkins was arrested overnight in Albuquerque.
Hawkins, 35, was arrested without incident by the U.S. Marshals Service, according to information released Saturday morning by the Roswell Police Department.
Roswell Police detectives had filed a criminal complaint and obtained a warrant Friday for his arrest in connection with the shooting death of 31-year-old Ashley Sena, believed to be Hawkins’ girlfriend. Her body was found Aug. 4 in a hotel room at Comfort Suites in the 3600 block of North Main Street. Police said that Sena had been shot once in the face.
Roswell Police Department spokesman Todd Wildermuth stated that Hawkins will be returned to Roswell to face charges of murder, tampering with evidence and felon in possession of a firearm. He also is charged with two counts of intimidation of a witness.
