Casa Maria Health Care Center and Pecos Valley Rehabilitation Center were among 15 New Mexico nursing homes being recognized for demonstrating excellence in providing quality care.

The 2017 HealthInsight Quality Awards were launched in New Mexico by HealthInsight New Mexico and the New Mexico Health Care Association. The HealthInsight Quality Award Program promotes transparency in health care. The program has recognized nursing homes, hospitals, home health agencies and outpatient medical practices and clinics in Utah and Nevada since 2004.
The inaugural awards were presented at the New Mexico Health Care Association’s 63rd Annual Convention and Exposition opening session Wednesday in Albuquerque.

In order to meet criteria for the Quality Award, nursing homes had to rank in the top 25 percent of performers in the state as well as demonstrate a successfully implemented quality improvement program.
In addition to the awards, 13 nursing homes were recognized with Certificates for Excellence in Care Coordination. Certificates were awarded based on rankings calculated from the three short-stay Medicare claims-based care coordination measures. Nursing homes that ranked in the top 25 percent nationally for at least two measures received certificates.
