Fundraiser gives $12,000 to aid for vets

Joe "Bullet" Bercik presents a check for more than $12,000 to Magil Duran of the SENM Veterans Transportation Network on Aug. 24 at the Roswell Hyundai. Bercik presented the check on behalf of the annual Cruz'n for Vets fundraiser, which has raised money for SENM veterans groups for the past four years with a fun run that begins in Artesia, travels through SENM and ends in Roswell. Pictures are the volunteers, from left, Phil Harper, Jeremy Crow, Jason “Rojo” Bethany, Cassie White, Todd “the Hobbitt” Verciglio, JoAnn Romero, Darren Treadwell, Matt Bell, Arielle Green, Michael Berg, Ty Bussell, Michael “Strate” Waldrop, and Bill ”Bull” White who helped make this past year's event a success look on. Peñasco Valley Telephone has hosted this event for the past four years. Planning has begun for the 2018 event, with Roswell Hyundai taking over the hosting duties for the event. (Submitted Photo)
