Lining up for the linemen

During the 36th Annual Heritage Award Dinner of the Historical Society for Southeast New Mexico on Tuesday, almost every company, club, artist and private citizen with a connection to the Southwestern Public Service Company showed up to honor the company that brought the light to southeast New Mexico. SPSC received the 2017 Heritage Award at the event, which took place at the Roswell Convention and Civic Center. According to HSSNM executive director Amy McVay-Davis, who organized the event, close to 300 guests bought tickets for the evening. Authors and columnists John LeMay, Elvis E. Fleming and artist Kim Wiggins, pictured toward the right with the dark shirt, were also present. Wiggins was a HSSNM honoree in 2014. (Christina Stock Photo)
