Removing symbols is denying history

I also am white and yet I do not believe in “a broader view of the Civil War.”

The states’ rights they fought for were to keep slaves, the economic foundation of their society. You can definitely make much bigger profits if you do not have to pay your workers; for this reason I doubt the South would have ended slavery on their own.

I do agree that the removal of symbols is a denial of what was. To teach what these symbols represented and what we now believe to be true is the answer.
