A tribute of Robert’s life may be found at andersonbethany.com where you may leave memories and expressions of sympathy for his family.
On November 13, 1961, Robert was born in Roswell, NM, to his parents Silvestre Gustamantes and Aurelia Gustamantes, who precede him in death, along with his older brother, Sylvester (Titoti) Gustamantes. Robert graduated from Roswell High School in 1979. He went on to work at Nova Bus for 20 plus years. Robert was a foreman who worked in many different departments and was very well-known. Any time his name was brought up in a conversation, the first question asked was, “did he work at Nova Bus?” Robert dedicated his entire life to his career, but nothing was as important to him as his two daughters, Tabitha (Tabby) Armenta-Garcia and Allison (Sunny) Sanchez. He took so much pride in the raising of his girls, whom he loved more than anything in this world. Robert was a very proud, single father until he met the love of his life, Brenda Marrero, and her two children, Megan Colby and Terrance (Cleo) Mayes. The two love birds united their families on February 9, 1999. From this point on, his entire life revolved around his beautiful wife and all four of their children. The pride Robert had in his children was unimaginable. He constantly boasted about how proud he was of each of his children and made sure everyone he spoke to knew it.
Together, his children blessed him with nine grandchildren: Roman, Cidelia and Nathan Ibarra, Rowyn and Jordyn Sanchez, Raelee Howell and sisters: Raeven and Ryan Colby, Terrance Cleo Mayes II. Robert most recently, very proudly, welcomed his first great-grandson, Francisco Hernandez. The love Robert had for his grandchildren was a love like no other. It’s impossible to put the love and admiration he felt for them into words.
Robert is also survived by his sons-in-law: Roman Sanchez, Hector Garcia, Jonathon Colby; daughter-in-law, Brooke Fox; sisters: Hopie Espinoza, Emma Jean Gustamantes; brother, Levi Gustamantes and wife, Adrienne; numerous nieces and nephews; and god-daughter, Destiny Espinoza.
Honorary pallbearers are: Michael Matta and Alfred Arias.
Pallbearers are: Roman Ibarra, Nathan Ibarra, Paul Espinoza, Gus Hutcherson, Jason Gonzales and Felipe Gustamantes.
This tribute was written in honor of Robert by his family.

A dad is a person who’s loving and kind,
and often he knows what you have on your mind.
He’s someone who listens, suggests, and defends —
A dad can be one of your very best friends.
He’s proud of your triumphs,
but when things go wrong,
A dad can be patient and helpful and strong.
In all that you do, a dad’s love plays a part —
There’s always a place for him deep in your heart —
And each year that passes you’re even more glad,
More grateful and proud just to call him your dad.
