The Roswell Recreation and Parks Department would like to thank the community for their support of the city of Roswell’s 2017 Race Series.

Sara Hall, Roswell Adult and Recreation Center supervisor, became our area race director when Bob Edwards with the Roswell Runners Club retired.
She had big shoes to fill and a legacy to live up to and we appreciated the patience of our participants as this transition was made. The Turtle Marathon was held recently was not only successful but beneficial to all who came out.
We would like to thank Mayor Dennis Kintigh for his support along with these outstanding volunteers: Vernon Dyer, Rita Kane-Doerhoefer, Jim Lilley and Mandy Owens.
Getting the word out is always a challenge and we appreciate KBIM Radio, Roswell Daily Record and Majestic Radio for covering the race and allowing us to be interviewed.

Our partners and sponsors over the past five races were Roswell Mounted Patrol, Roswell Radio Club, Chaves County Search & Rescue, BNSF Railway, Fulkerson Plumbing, Kymera Independent Physicians, Rio Pecos Medical Associates, Peppers Grill & Bar, Noisy Water Art Wear, Callaway & Sons Auto Tech, Roswell UFO Festival, Southwest Printers and Big 5 Sporting Goods.
The Roswell Recreation staff works hard every year to make sure that the races are well planned and safe for participants. The Parks and Recreation Department, under the direction of Mr. Jim Burress, appreciated all that came out in support of such a worthwhile event.
For all those that helped out and participated — thank you and we appreciate you. Plans are already underway for the Reindeer Run set for Dec. 2. We look forward to seeing you at the finish line!
Laurie Jerge
Superintendent of Recreation,
City of Roswell
