Michael Lee Jasper 60, passed away unexpectedly at home in Albuquerque on September 1, 2017. Mike was born in Roswell, NM on March 1, 1957 to Vonnie Lee Jasper and Maureta Sue Jenkins Jasper, who both precede him in death. Mike is survived by his wife Anne Salmon of Albuquerque, NM; his brother Jeff Jasper of Roswell, NM; his three children, Amanda Sue Jasper and her partner Jim Newton of TaJique, NM; Claire Bell Jasper Kermode, her husband Matthew Kermode, and grandson Hudson Paul Kermode of Roswell, NM; Michael Clayton Jasper and his girlfriend Avonlea Villalobos of Albuquerque, NM.
Mike Jasper wore many hats in life, from a small business owner to a 25-year career in car sales, then working with the National Wild Turkey Federation, which led him to Albuquerque where he had just begun his music and acting career.
He was an avid outdoorsman, a patriot who loved his country, and was well known as “The Yeso Kid.” He had a passion for music and would never pass up a jam session. No matter what life had in store for him, he always had his fiddle and guitar close by. He shared his love of life with everyone he met, and once he knew your name, you were his friend. Mike left this Earth too soon, but his memory and his music will last forever!
Please join us for an informal celebration of Mike’s life, which will be held Sunday, September 10, from 3-6 p.m. at The Elks Lodge, 1720 N. Montana Ave., Roswell, NM 88201.
