An armadillo stretches a little as Albuquerque BioPark docent Kathy Zipf shows him to people attending the 2017 Dragonfly Festival at the Bitter Lakes National Wildlife Refuge on Saturday morning. The festival included tours of the refuge northeast of Roswell, a refuge known for its large number of dragonfly species. The family-friendly activity also offered food, arts and crafts tables, and educational and interactive displays by numerous groups and state agencies involved in animal and wildlife activities. The annual event is organized by the Friends of Bitter Lake. (Lisa Dunlap Photo)
