Dorothy Lavon White (Nana), 76, passed away into the hands of our Lord on Thursday, September 14, 2017. The family will be having a personal memorial for Dorothy at her home. On July 14, 1941, Dorothy was born to Vick Edd Thomas and Anna Bell Whitten in Fort Worth, TX. She spent most of her life in Roswell, NM, where she was a special ed teacher for many years. Dorothy loved taking care of her special needs granddaughter, Jessica D. Caple. She loved and treasured spending time with her family and enjoyed reading.
Loved ones surviving to cherish Dorothy’s memory are her brothers: Sydney Collins of Corpus Christi, TX, Joe Collins and wife, Kay, of San Antonio, TX, Jack Collins and wife, Silvia, of Waco, TX; children: Kip White and wife, Laurie, of Liberty Hill, TX, Randall (Randy) Caple and wife, Jackie, of Roswell, NM, Jesse Dale Caple and wife, Shirley, of Artesia, NM. Dorothy had numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren who are left to treasure her memory.
Preceding Dorothy in death were her husband, Jim White; daughter, Jymi Teadra White, brothers: Jim Collins, James (Bobby) Collins, Billy Ray Collins; as well as step-siblings: Bobby Worrell and Dolores Worrell.
