Man shot in southern Roswell hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries

Investigators from the Roswell Police Department are searching for answers – asking for anyone who saw or heard anything potentially related to a shooting that occurred Wednesday afternoon.

According to the RPD’s public information officer, Todd Wildermuth, a 24-year-old man was injured in a shooting that took place in the south part of the city. The victim was hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries.

Wildermuth said the shooting is believed to have occurred shortly before 4 p.m., as the victim and another person sat in a vehicle in the driveway of a residence in the 200 block of East Poe Street.

“Those two people told police the shooter came up to the vehicle and fired shots into the vehicle, striking the victim,” Wildermuth said in a news release. “The shooter then fled, and the victim and the other person drove away. They could not describe the shooter in any detail.”

Police said as the victim drove the vehicle, the passenger eventually called 911, informing a dispatcher of the shooting victim.
