A resident located along the 100 block of East Church Street reported hearing gunshots from outside the home Wednesday afternoon.

According to the Roswell Police Department’s public information officer Todd Wildermuth, both a window to the home and a car sitting outside the home had been struck.

Wildermuth said no one was injured.

“The resident said he did not see the shooter or a potential shooter’s vehicle,” Wildermuth said. “Other residents in the neighborhood heard shots but said they did not see who fired the shots or they refused to talk to police.”

Wildermuth said the officer who initially responded to the 5:14 p.m. call conducted a quick review inside the house, but the resident was not fully cooperative and unable to wait for crime-scene technicians to arrive before he and others started moving items and disturbing the scene.

“Unless new information develops related to the identity of the shooter, the case is currently inactive,” Wildermuth said.
