As a 30-year military veteran, I have been amazed as to my hometown’s disrespect for the American flag which we veterans fought for and many gave their lives for.

I drive around town and I see private citizens, city buildings, federal buildings, stores, restaurants, proudly displaying torn, worn, frayed flags.

I often stop or call these facilities and often get the response, “I didn’t notice.”

I have witnessed flags thrown into the trash! The American Legion will properly dispose of our flag.

Come on Roswell! This is supposed to be the “All-American City!” Respect our flag, symbol of our freedom.
