Susie Russell is named representative for southeastern Economic Development

Susan (Susie) Russell has been named the southeastern regional representative for the New Mexico Economic Development Department. She will be based in Roswell.

According to a release from the state department, Russell was hired in September 2017 after five years with the International Enforcement Training Academy, where she was part of the original team and worked with students from around the world.

Prior to her stint at ILEA, Russell worked for more than nine years as the executive director of the Community Foundation of Chaves County and for almost two years as a director at the Roswell Chamber of Commerce. Russell has associate’s and bachelor’s degrees in journalism.

The department also announced that Peter Mitchell is returning to the Economic Development Department as a regional representative in northern New Mexico and will be based in Santa Fe. He previously worked for the department for nine years.
