The foundation is committed to providing support and education to all individuals with Down syndrome and their families.

It services nine counties: Chaves, Eddy, Lea, Roosevelt, De Baca, Curry, Lincoln, Otero and Doña Ana.

This year’s theme was “Everybuddy is a Superhero,” and there were a few guest appearances by superheroes such as Wonder Woman, Spider-Man and Bat Girl.

The walk was held at Spring River Park & Zoo, where the weather couldn’t have been more perfect — sunny and in the low 70s.

As the walkers snaked around the approximately 1-mile course, cheerleaders from Roswell and Goddard high schools and Mesa Middle School chanted “Go buddies!” or similar slogans.
