Sweet sound of jazz heard at courthouse

Clarinetist Allan Vaché, guest of honor at this year's Roswell Jazz Festival, performs with a Dixieland group on Friday during a free concert on the lawn of the Chaves County Courthouse. Seated at the keyboard is Michael Francis, executive director of the Roswell Jazz Festival, while tuba player James Shearer sings. Along with his jazz gigs, Shearer also performs in the Roswell Symphony Orchestra. The festival continues today and Sunday at locations throughout Roswell.
