Artesia honors Living Treasures

Ryder Champion shows off an award given to him on Oct. 15 during the Artesia Historical Museum and Art Center Foundation Living Treasures ceremony. Champion has been the water boy for Artesia High football, basketball and baseball games for a number of decades. Also honored was retired educator Sylvia Flores. She retired in 2011 after spending 31 years in the education field. She was the principal of Yucca Elementary School in Artesia. (Mike Smith Photo)
