A golf tournament for the Lefty Stecklein Scholarship will also be taking place at the military institute’s golf course at 1 p.m.

Later Thursday night, Silver Taps will begin at 7 p.m., which is a traditional event held at the Hagerman Barracks to honor alumni members who have passed away over the past year. Each candle that is held by a cadet represents a life.

Following Silver Taps, a reception will be held for alumni members and their guests, however no cadets or people under the age of 21 are allowed.
