Downtown Fisk Building sells

Amanda Mason visits with some friends Wednesday night after the official closing on the sale of the downtown Fisk Building at the southeast corner of Fourth and Main streets. Mason Holdings LLC, comprised of Amanda Mason and her husband, Roswell police detective Joe Mason, bought the 114-year-old building from the city for $30,000 after several public meetings, a public bidding process and state review of the transaction. The Masons’ first goal after needed renovations is to open a Southern-style ice cream and sweets shop on the ground floor. Over time, they also hope to renovate other areas of the building to create offices and loft apartments. (Lisa Dunlap Photo)
