A man is dead as a result of a head-on collision between a vehicle and a semi-truck, authorities said.

According to a press release by New Mexico State Police public information officer Ray Wilson, on November 24, at around 8:30 p.m. state police responded to a fatal, head-on collision involving a Ford F-150 and a semi-truck on U.S. 285 at approximately mile post 5 south of Loving.

Authorities said initial investigations indicated that the Ford F-150 driver, 54-year-old Clay Allan Scott, of Conroe, TX, was travelling north on U.S. 285. The semi was traveling in the opposite direction.

“The Ford F-150 crossed the center line and collided head on with the (semi-truck,)” police said. “Mr. Scott sustained fatal injuries in the collision.”
