Matt Rush, an eighth-generation farmer/rancher who lives near Dora, was the guest speaker Tuesday at the 68th annual All Civic Club Luncheon at the Roswell Convention & Civic Center. The “farm boy turned motivational speaker” said that a viable person is willing and able to grow. He said the southeast corner of New Mexico is very viable, because it produces a significant amount of food and much of the state’s annual revenue. Rush is the former CEO of New Mexico farm bureau and has co-authored several books on leadership. About 300 people from more that 20 civic clubs in Roswell attended the luncheon, which was catered by Peppers Grill & Bar. The luncheon was sponsored by the Kiwanis Club of Roswell.
