Son of Ramon Sr. and Petra Velasco, Ramon was born on January 2, 1956, in Roswell, New Mexico. He married the love of his life, Elisa Velasco Luna on September 10, 1975. Ramon was a strong, independent, loving man with the biggest heart, and would open his doors to anyone. His grandkids gave him the name “Pampo,” and eventually he picked up quite a few more grandchildren that weren’t even his. Ramon loved to joke around and wanted to teach everyone taekwondo. Ramon touched everyone’s heart that came across his path. Ramon will be dearly missed.
Ramon is finally reunited with his “Boo,” Elisa Velasco. Until we meet again.
Those left to cherish Ramon’s memory are Israel and Paula, Diana, Elena, Ricki and Ashley Velasco; daughter, Sonia Velasco, son, Matthew Velasco and wife, Chantilly Velasco; son, Ray Velasco III; grandkids: Elisa Brown, Martin Talamantes III, Felix Talamantes, David Talamantes, Bobby Contreras, Ray Ray Velasco, Neriah Velasco, Wally Velasco, Mercedes Velasco, Myela Velasco, Matt Angelo Velasco, Julian, Michael, Ziggy Contreras; stepmother, Socorro Velasco; and a very special friend, Darlene Gonzales.
Preceding Ramon in death were his parents: Ramon Sr. and Petra Velasco; and brothers: David, Robert and Thomas Velasco.
“A father’s touch a daddy’s kiss, a grieving daughter, the dad I will always miss. An empty house, an empty chair, a father’s love no longer there.A broken heart, tear filled eyes, another soul in the sky.The times we shared, the last we had things, I miss when I think of dad.”
This tribute was lovingly written in honor of Ramon by his family.
