Volunteering time for new floors

Volunteers from Christ Church of Roswell place new flooring in one of the rooms of the former River of Life women’s and children’s shelter on East Bland Street on Saturday. About 20 church members donated their time and labor to clean and make repairs for the day. Two members from the church, Chris Laduca and Josh Worley, are on the board of the Roswell Homeless Coalition, which has entered into a two-year agreement with Rivers of Life International Inc. to run the shelter along with a men’s facility. Various churches and groups are part of the coalition and are expected to contribute labor and materials to help reopen the shelters, which have been closed since October. (Lisa Dunlap Photo)
