Vietnam vets donate hams and veggies to the food pantry

Members of the Roswell chapter of the Vietnam Veterans of America prepare Wednesday morning to give 45 sliced hams and 20 cases of canned vegetables to the Good Samaritan food pantry run by St. Peter Church on East Deming St. VVA Chapter 968, which has about 52 members and has been in existence for 12 years, donates to the food pantry about twice a year, according to Frank Carrillo. The group plans another food drop-off at the pantry in the summer and also says it intends to provide food to the Roswell Homeless Coalition shelters when they open, which is expected in 2018.
