Mary A. Ellington, 96, of Ola, passed Saturday, December 9, 2017 at her home surrounded by her loved ones. The daughter of Lloyd and Sally Gentry Blair, she was born November 25, 1921 in Shawnee, OK.
She and Homer Ellington were married on July 8, 1943 in Shawnee, Oklahoma, and made their home in Roswell, New Mexico. She enjoyed fishing, traveling, and visiting with friends and family.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, daughter, Patricia Ann French; son-in-law, Tito French; a son, William Eugene Ellington.
She is survived by two grandsons, Chris French (Jeri), and Jon French, both of Tallahassee, Fl; two great-grandchildren, Chance and Chloe French; three nephews, Paul Wood (Betty), Ola, Billy Joe Wood (Estella), Miami, FL, James Wood, Danville; two nieces, Judy Bell, Ola, Dorothy Davis, Russellville, 6 great nieces and 5 great nephews, including, Earl Wood (Pandora), Sanger, TX, Paula Tarte (Wes), Russellville, William “Woody” Wood (Tammie), Pottsville; and many generations of great-great and great-great-great nieces and nephews.
Memorial Service will be held at 3:00 PM, Thursday, December 21, 2017 at Humphrey Chapel. Mark Auten will officiate. The family will receive friends from 2:00 pm until service time at the funeral home.
