Steve Urban Jr, 79, passed away on Monday, December 18, 2017. Viewing will be at Anderson Bethany Funeral Home on Tuesday, December 26, 2017, 12:00 PM – 6:00 PM, followed by a Memorial Service at 6:00 PM.
A Graveside Service will be held at General Douglas L. McBride Veteran’s Cemetery on Wednesday, December 27, 2017, 11:00 AM. Celebrate Steve’s life by visiting www.andersonbethany.com to offer a memory or expression of sympathy for his family.
On March 11, 1938, Steve was born to Steve Urban Sr. and Ramona Urban in Hagerman, New Mexico. A Hagerman High School graduate, Steve attended South West Business College. A proud veteran, Steve served our country as a member of the United States Navy on Naval Ship, Bon Homme Richard CVA-31.
Steve married the love of his life, Raquel Trevizo Urban on June 24, 2004, in Roswell, New Mexico. Steve loved to work and keep busy, one of the places he worked for was the Santa Fe Rail Road. He also worked for and retired from American Linen for over thirty-five years. A favorite pastime of Steve’s was fishing.
In retirement, he moved to Ruidoso, New Mexico, where he enjoyed sitting on the porch while drinking a cup of coffee. His greatest pride and joy were his children and grandchildren; he loved them more than life itself. Steve will be greatly missed, and the memories he made with his family will be forever cherished.
Those left to eternally treasure and cherish memories of Steve are his loving wife, Raquel Trevizo Urban; daughter, Melissa Urban-Cobos and husband, Orlando; sons: Phillip Sidney Urban, Eddie Urban Mendoza; grandchildren: Amber Gallegos and husband, Manuel Gallegos, Larissa Vegara and family, Larry Vegara Jr. and family; great-grandchildren: Angelina, Annalicia, Julieta and Julian Gallegos, Jaidon and Evan Sweatfield, Nayomee, Niko, Cambri and Priscilla Vegara, Ashley Urban, Rayanna Urban, Brisa Urban; siblings: Lollie Urban, Jerry Urban, John Urban, Gloria Urban Hutchens, Florence Urban Flores, Ruth Urban Garcia; and many nieces and nephews, all of whom he loved.
Preceding Steve in death were his parents: Steve Urban Sr. and Ramona Anaya Urban; grandparents: Juan and Juanita Urban, Pedro and Rita Anaya; sisters: Belia Urban Montoya, Delia Urban Arellano, Virginia Urban; brother, Jimmy Urban; nieces and nephews: Linda Montoya, Joe Sanchez, Sandra Urban, Ernie Garcia, Joann Flores Nieto and Efrain Sanchez Jr.
