Leo Alfred Gonzales Jr, 51, passed away on Monday, December 25, 2017. A Rosary will be recited at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church on Tuesday, January 2, 2018, 9:00 AM, followed by a Celebration of Life at 10:00 AM. Interment will follow at South Park Cemetery. On May 14, 1966, Leo was born to Leo Alfred Gonzales Sr. and Connie Reyer Gonzales in Roswell, New Mexico. Leo was passionate about the outdoors. He would get in his car and just drive, not knowing where the destination may lead him. A Dallas Cowboy fan, Leo enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, watching street outlaws and most of all, watching his favorite team play. Working on small engines was one of Leo’s favorite things to do. His greatest joy in life was spending time and making memories with his grandchildren. Leo was deeply loved and will be profoundly missed, not only by his family and friends, but by all those fortunate enough to have known him.
Those left to cherish Leo’s memory are his loving wife, Carla Gonzales; children: Frankie Gonzales, Rebecca Gonzales, Donald Gonzales and Jessica Gonzales; step-children: Clifford Barela, Jonathan Barela, Roy Barela; grandchildren: Dominique Gonzales, Destiny Gonzales, Noemi Choneska, Aubryann Word, Taelor Andrews, Jayden Hite, Kayla Hite, Anna Gonzales, Samuel Gonzales, Nathan Herring, Ireland Hering, David Whitmer, Cheyenne Barela, Angel Barela, Aaden Barela, Serenity Barela; mother, Connie Gonzales; and brothers: Ray Gonzales, Michael Gonzales.
Preceding Leo in death were his grandkids: Bryan Choneska, Alex Barela, Jose Barela; father, Leo Alfred Gonzales Sr; grandpa Barrera and brother, Donald Gonzales.
Those chosen as Honorary Pallbearers are: John Borovina and his step-children.
Pallbearers will be: Patrick Lopez, TJ Reyer, Patrick Hatcher, Heve Briones, Antonio Briones and Michael Gonzales.
