Marlena Mendoza, 39, of Roswell, NM, passed away on Wednesday, December 27, 2017. There will be a public Viewing at Anderson Bethany Funeral Home, in Roswell New Mexico, on Thursday, January 4, 2018, 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM. A Rosary will be recited at Anderson Bethany Funeral Home Chapel Thursday, January 4, 2018, 6:00 PM. A Memorial Mass will be held at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church on Friday, January 5, 2018, at 2:00 PM. On March 10, 1978, Marlena was born to Joe and Irene Mendoza in Roswell, New Mexico. She was a loving, caring mother, daughter, sister and friend. Growing up, she was an honor roll student and was involved in cheer, band and Folklorico dancing. Marlena took pride in helping others as a certified EMT, as well as co-founded ENMMC Fast Track with Cyd Roller, CNP. She will forever be remembered for her radiant smile. Marlena especially loved to sing with her dad and dance at family gatherings. She has been described in her short life, as fearless, outgoing, smart, charismatic and sincere. Marlena was loyal to her family and friends. She enjoyed reading, shopping, watching movies, hunting and fishing. She loved her Kansas City Chiefs, San Antonio Spurs, NASCAR, Dr. Pepper and sweet tea from McDonald’s.
Preceding Marlena in death were her grandparents: Eloy and Belen Widner; grandfather, Jose H. Mendoza; nephew, Demarcus Mendoza; twin sons: Ruppert Joe, Robert Eloy Guzman; and especially significant persons: Henry and Clara “Nini” Jauregui.
Surviving to cherish Marlena’s memory are her parents: Joe and Irene Mendoza; grandmother, Maria Mendoza; brothers: Joe W. Mendoza and wife, Marizol, Stephen Mendoza (Luchia), Julian Mendoza and wife, Megan, Matthew Mendoza (Michaella); sister, Christa Koglin and husband, Charles. Her children: son, Romano Cristobal Jauregui (Brianna), daughter, Ariana Rose Jauregui (Justin), son, Carlos Amado Jauregui (Dale); a special father to her children, Abel H. Jauregui; nieces and nephews: Joseph, Mireya, Sabrina, Christian, Kyra, Hailey, Aria, Camilla Marie, Kyle; great-niece, Avianna; godparents: Vangie and Richard Quintero; as well as numerous aunts; uncles; cousins; and so many special friends.
Honorary Pallbearers are: Joe W. Mendoza, Stephen Mendoza, Julian Mendoza, Matthew Mendoza, Charles Koglin, Romano Cristobal Jauregui, Ariana Rose Jauregui and Carlos Amado Jauregui.
