A small structure fire in northeast Roswell is under investigation, Roswell police say.

The fire Wednesday morning destroyed the small structure near the railroad tracks on a vacant lot in the 800 block of East 19th Street, about a block east of North Garden Avenue.

The structure did appear to be lived in, Roswell Police Officer Joel Smoyer said, but no injuries were reported. He said the cause of the fire was under investigation.

No one at the house adjacent to the vacant lot was available to answer questions early Wednesday afternoon.

Roswell Fire Department spokesman Todd Wildermuth said that the call reporting the fire came in about 10:25 a.m. and that emergency responders were at the scene for about an hour. He added that the owner of the structure was unknown as of Wednesday afternoon.
