Voting in municipal elections

The 2018 elections for municipal officers has begun. Declarations of candidacy must be filed on Jan. 9 between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m.

For absentee voting, registration and applications must be obtained at the Municipal Clerk’s office. Applications must be completed by before 5 p.m. on March 2. The absentee ballots can be delivered by mail or in person, by the voter’s immediate family member or caregiver, on March 6 by 7 p.m.

To vote in the 2018 municipal elections, registration to vote must be completed no later than Feb. 6 at 5 p.m. At end of this date, Sharon Coll, the City Clerk, will close the registration book.

Election day will be March 6. Voters can go to any of voting convenience centers at Roswell Museum and Art Center, St. Mark’s Lutheran Church, West Country Club Church of Christ, Waymaker Church, the Chaves County Clerk’s office, and Eastern New Mexico University Roswell Campus in the Union building.

The polls will be open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
